Segonzano Earth Pyramids
While on holiday in Trentino don’t miss out on a visit to the
Segonzano Pyramids on the Altipiano di Piné-Cembra. The plateau is well worth exploring, with walks through woods and meadows, nature reserves and peat bogs contrasting with the numerous terraces where vines are cultivated.
The Pyramids are one of nature's masterpieces - towers, crests and pinnacles arranged like organ pipes, tall columns surmounted by porphyry boulders.
How to get there
Leave your car in Segonzano in the car park below the Pyramids, and from there take the path running uphill alongside a tributary of the Rio Regnana. After about 20 minutes, you'll see the first of the Pyramids on your left.
Continue uphill and after about 30 minutes you'll get to the largest group of spires. Keep walking up the side of the stream and around the most impressive group of pyramids. Keepto the right and walk down the other side until you rejoin the path you came on and follow this back to the car park.
The walk is suitable for everyone. Sturdy walking boots are recommended.
