The Barba di Fior fort
The Val di Sole offers innumerable family walks and no end of opportunities to take in the landscapes, admire picturesque views and absorb nature's gentle sounds and perfumes, to unwind and rediscover the pleasures of unhurried walking, to relax and free the mind of all care.
How to get there
The walk we recommend is an easy onethat takes you to the Austrian fort built during the First World War to defend the Austro-Hungarian border. Take the road that runs from Peio Fonti to Peio Paese and at the first hair-pin bend take the lane on the left in the direction of Lago Pian Palù. About 1 km further on you'll come to the Malga Frattasecca car park.
Continue on foot for around 100 metres, then take the lane on the left up to the Barba di Fior Fort, which dates back to the First World War.
Duration: around 30 minutes
